Dynamic Shear Rheometry
Pictured above is the Alpha Technologies Premier ESR (Encapsulated Shear Rheometer). This instrument is a dynamic shear rheometer that measures viscosity, modulus and heat buildup of polymers, i.e. rubber, plastic, and composites versus temperature, frequency and shear rate.

Thermal Analysis
Thermal Analysis for Polymer and Protein Formulations, Purity, Stability, and Many Additional Measurements
McAfee Consulting LLC offers thermal analysis in our Dallas/Fort Worth facility with a guaranteed 5 day turnaround time, with most test results back to you within 3 days. Our thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) can obtain formulation percentages and our differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is used for obtaining polymer and protein melting properties and purity. A great asset for quality control. Just send us a small piece of your material, and we will return the results to you quickly.
What can be tested?
Glass transitions, polymer blend, specific heat capacity, purity determinations, rxn kinetics, quantitation of formulations & components, etc. can be tested. Results will be analyzed by our, Perkin Elmer Pyris 6 TGA/DSC and a written report will be available via email within 5 days.
What is the cost?
DSC: $300 for each sample
TGA: $350 for each sample

FTIR Testing
FTIR Testing for Polymer and Protein Identification
McAfee Consulting LLC offers FTIR testing in our Dallas/Fort Worth facility with a guaranteed 5 day turnaround time, with most test results back to you within 3 days.
FTIR testing is Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, also known as FTIR Analysis or FTIR Spectroscopy.
The FTIR provides a chemical fingerprint which we match against our extensive libraries and we can determine the polymer, plasticizer, filler, etc.
Just send us a small piece of your material, and we will tell you what it is!
We have a Nicolet Avatar 360 with the ATR crystal (diamond and germanium) for fast and efficient identification of all your material needs.
What can be tested?
All rubber, plastic, pellets, fibers, parts, materials, ingredients, contaminants, etc. can be tested. Results will be analyzed and compared to our polymer libraries by chemists with Ph.D.'s in analytical chemistry, and a written report will be available via fax or email within 5 days.
What is the cost?
FTIR: $200 for each sample
